See "counting" directions for importance of same amount of stitches in each row.
At end of each row
- For next row to be single stitch, Chain 1, turn.
- For next row to be half double crochet, Chain 2, turn.
- For next row to be double crochet, Chain 3, turn.
- For next row to be triple crochet, Chain 4, turn.
Always crochet in top chain stitch, NOT space made by turning chain.
You may choose to crochet in 1st stitch under turning chain or 2nd. Either way, make sure to do the same throughout your project.
If you choose to crochet in 1st stitch, turning chain DOES NOT count as stitch.
If you choose to crochet in 2nd stitch, turning chain DOES count as stitch.
